Membership Information

The MFWBA brings together journalists and communications specialists to learn about and debate all aspects of Manitoba agriculture.

When you join the MFWBA, you also become a member of a larger community of agricultural communicators. You belong to the Canadian Farm Writers Federation, a national umbrella group. Members can network at the CFWF annual conference every fall, and you’ll receive a national newsletter to keep updated on events from across Canada. For honest feedback on your hard work, and a chance to win accolades from your
peers, you can enter the CFWF annual awards competition. Categories include television; radio; daily, weekly and monthly press reporting; web site; news release; press column; press editorial; and press feature.

Your MFWBA membership also gives you contacts around the world. You will become a member of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists. The IFAJ publishes a newsletter, organizes an annual congress in different nations, and maintains a database of contacts and journalists to help you with stories or work exchanges.
